Who are the Retirement Design Lab course instructors?

How you will spend your time, what kind of lifestyle you will have, and how your finances will look. It can also include envisioning how you will stay active and connected with family and friends

I'm young and haven't thought about retirement yet. Why should I attend one of your events?

Starting early is key to a secure retirement. Our workshops can help you understand the basics of saving, investing, and make informed financial decisions now that will benefit you in the long run.

I'm not sure if I'm on track for my retirement goals. Can you help me assess my progress?

RDL instructors are licensed financial advisors. Each of our events will provide a good foundation for education and retirement mindsets, but to truly evaluate your goals compared to your situation, we encourage attendees to meet individually with the instructor of their event. These professionals will typically make some time available to meet with people individually to discuss planning goals.

Because many financial topics become intertwined with other areas of professionalism, such as estate planning or tax planning, our instructors may remain at a high level. Feel free to ask them if they are able to advise on specific topics or areas, but note that you may need to speak to licensed individuals that specialize in that area.

I'm scared I won't have enough money to retire comfortably. How do I know if I can retire?

That is one of the biggest concerns soon-to-be retirees have, and a question we are passionate about helping you answer. Our events offer practical strategies for maximizing your retirement income and making your nest egg last throughout retirement. RDL instructors are financial professionals who can work with you to help you to build a retirement income plan that provides you with greater confidence in your future planning.

I already work with a financial advisor; should I still attend?

You are welcome to do so! Registering for an event does not sign you up for anything other than attending the event. Personal finance and retirement planning is highly individualized and you may benefit from another source of information or(should you meet with an instructor individually) second opinion, just like you may seek from doctors, lawyers, auto mechanics, and other professionals. Our hope is that you will leave feeling more confident and empowered in your financial future.
